5. Messrs Bekhor and Benjamin acted in this manner
merely for the accommod8t''on of the firm of Chous A.
Eekhor and Fils, because of the relationship to the senior
partner in that firm, and prior to the occurrence mentioned
below the firm of Choua A. Bekhor and Fils were always
punctual in remitting tw&xx before the maturity of the
drafts drawn by them.
6, Very shortly before the outbreak of the war the
firm of Choua A. Bekhor and Fils drew on Messrs Bekhor
and Benjamin , London, Bills to the extent of £ 4200/-
which were accepted by Messrs Bekhor and Benjamin in
the usual manner for the accommodation of Choua A.Bekhcr
and Fils and our client is informed that the money
necessary to meet these Bills at maturity was in fact
remitted from Baghdad to London two or three days before
the outbreak of War, but that owing to cable interruption
the telegraphic remittance did not reach Londdn in tint
and thxt the amount was refunded to Choua A. Bekhor and
Mis in Baghdad.
