Prom an oil production point of view, we feel that
the relative positions of Kuwait and Qatar are exactly
similar and we assume that for political reasons it would
also he embarrassing if operations were to he resumed
nne area and not in the other. It is true tnat
proposals in regard to Qatar are at ihe moment m a rather
more advanced stage, as far as we are concerned, than
those for Kuwait, hut in the United States tne position
is reversed and the Gulf Company have already been
discussing a resumption of operations at Kuwait with
the U.S. authorities*

on the subject of Kuwait in the course of the next da
