The arrann-emente for the defence of the liorthe
of the Indo Persian frontier, now that British
trooos have been withdrawn from Persian soil, and the
actual alignment of the undemroated part of tho
frontier have recently formed the subject of much
discussion and correspondence.
2. The situation as it exists at present may briefly be
described as follows
The Persian Government has sent a oonsiderablp force
of trained troops to Dusdap, Mirjawa and IChwash, from
m
all of which places British troops have been withdrawn.
At Duzdap the Persian troops are in occupation of
tne barracks built by the Last Persia Cordon, 'and
furnish a guard for the railway buildings. At Mirjawa
the Officer Commanding Persian troops has asked for
permission to occupy the railway huts in the railway
area formerly occupied by the Indian platoon; and his
reouest has been forwarded to the Government of India
ky the Hon’ble the Agent to the Governor General who
s recommended that the concession should be granted.
3. Prom Mirjawa to Duzdap, in Persian territory, we
have 'the last section of the ITushki Extension Railway,
the only protection for the personnel and material of
•'ktoh and the ^oods in transit thereon is that afforded
cy the presence of Persian troops.
It is only in Puzdap station itself that the Persian
Commander has been asked to furnish a guard.

The part includes: reports of unrest and desertion amongst the Zhob militia in 1916, and losses incurred as a result, as reported by the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. at Zhob, Major Arthur le Grand Jacob; the granting of financial rewards to officers and men in the Zhob militia who did not desert during the Third Anglo-Afghanistan War in 1919; the continuance of funds towards a number of British border forces in 1921, including the Swat Levies and the Mekran Levy Corps; discussion of the future arrangements for the administration of those parts of Mekran [Makran] under the authority of the Khanate of Kalat, 1922; reports on the Kalat administration; the disposal of the Mirjawa [Mīrjāveh] to Duzdap [Zahedan] railway; and the transfer of control over tribes in the Sarhad district of Persian Baluchistan, from the British to the Persian authorities, March 1924.
