I have the hono^to^raWt to you a copy In trane-^
latlon of a note dated the 18th June last, ho.2469, addressed
to me by the Persian Minister for Foreign Affairs drawing
attention to a raid by trans frontier Baluchis on a Persian
Baiuch caravan between Bampur and Gwadur, and requesting
suitable action for the punishment of the raiders and the
restoration of property stolen.
I beg leave to request an enquiry into this incident
and to be acquainted with the report thereon of the British
Balucnistan authorities.
A copy of this despatch is being sent to Hie Majesty’s
Consuls at Kerman and Gistan.

According to a telegram received from Sardar Leader of a tribe or a polity; also refers to a military rank or title given to a commander of an army or division. Dooct
Mohamed Khan Baluch of Bam, on the return of a caravan which
had gone from Bampur to Gwadur for trading purposes, the
Baluchis on the other side of the frontier have killed ten
Baluchis of this side and have taken away 50 camels with
their drivers.
Your Excellency is completely aware of the bad con
sequences of such deplorable behaviour among the tribes and
I beg leave to request Your Excellency to recommend the
competent authorities to seize and punish the criminals,
restitute the pillaged properties and provide for the
removal of the complaints of the relatives of the.killed
persons in order that such events may not recur in future.
