I have the honour to refer to your telegram ho.T 128
oi 0ctober i2 th and previous correspondence on the su'b^e^t
of periodical reports of the outbreak of disease in India,
and to thank you for so readily meeting the wishes of the
Gonseil Superieur de la Sante Publique in Tehran.
l1ne Physician to this Legation has now received
a letter from the President which, while expressing
appreciation ol these weekly telegrams goes on to make
certain suggestions which 1 feel it advisable to bring to
your notice. I will quote a translation of this letter.
/oux letter of the 18th October about the
weekly telegraphic information from India
received here, for which I thank you. Seeing
tnat we already receive this information from
Singapore and Paris I would request that
‘iniormat!on about the health of India be given
more frequently than once a week especially in
cases of Cholera and Plague, if possible. Above
ail li a case occurs in Bombay, Karachi, or
Calcutta, that information should be given
'•immediately so that the necessary steps may be
taken here ••*.. .Signed Sayed Malik 1 *.
3. I should add that Doctor Slgood is of the opinion
that normally a weekly report is quite sufficient.
