Abadan for repair and overhaul (q). Certain repairs ^rere
executed at a cost of Krane 566 (hi,but apparently an ex
pensive item of puap and tubing was held up for want of fund©
Hi with the result that on an attempt being made to disinfect
the S*S*Sir&ar on the <Sth April 19«5 owing to faulty tubes the
engine broke down and was badly damaged,(ji
Directly after the damage^ had been effected the Persian Govt
sanctioned the necessary monies to purchase the required spare
parts and repair the drm?ge,{k)
Spare parts were apparently receivod and the machine in wording
fov,
order,as it was requisitioned, by the Mesopotamian Expeditionary
Force on the request of its D,M*S, by the Chief political officer

the bills for spares and repairs mentioned above was met by that

The barge and the machine thus passed out of the oar© of the
