assurance, that they do not intend to extend the expedition beyond the limits
of Nejd, that as already pointed out by this Government in their letters
JSos. 3752 and 4282, dated the 15th August and 9th ultimo, respectively, the
whole question turns on what are the limits of Neid—an elastic term capable of
much extension. 1
