The map accompanies The Transactions of the Bombay Geographical Society. From January 1865 to December 1867. (Edited by the Honorary Secretary.) Volume XVIII. : Article IV (pages 36-77), entitled 'Memorandum of Notes on Mekran, together with a Report on a Visit to Kej, and Route through Mekran from Gwadur to Kurrachee.', by Lieutenant Edward Charles Ross, Assistant Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. at Khelat [Kalat].
