Copy of a letter from HM Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary A diplomatic representative who ranks below an ambassador. The term can be shortened to 'envoy'. to Persia [Iran], Sir Harford Jones, to the Government of India's Envoy to Persia, Brigadier-General Sir John Malcolm, of 12 July 1810. The letter forwards the copy of a letter from HM Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs [not enclosed in this item], and requests assistance with providing Sir Gore Ousely [Sir Gore Ouseley] with tent equipment for his arrival at Bushire. The letter was enclosed in Jones's secret letter of 24 July 1810, which was received 21 November 1810.
