This part of the volume consists of copies of enclosures to a despatch from the Government of Bombay’s Secret Department to the Secret Committee Pre-1784, the Committee responsible for protecting East India Company shipping. Post-1784, its main role was to transmit communications between the Board of Control and the Company's Indian governments on matters requiring secrecy. , Number 74 of 1843, dated 31 October 1843. The enclosures are numbered 3-7 and are dated 1 September-18 October 1843.
The papers relate to affairs in the dominions of the Imam of Muscat including the following:
- The activities of the French in Zanzibar
- Translation of a letter from the Native Agent Non-British agents affiliated with the British Government. at Muscat reporting the proceedings of Captain Ward of the American ship Brenda
- News of an individual alleged to have been appointed American Consul at Muscat.
