and lawlessness prevail in Persia. In conclusion they pray that propaganda
may be suppressed with a strong hand.
One, Aqa Muhammad Hussein, at present in Meshed, is a Bolshevik
propagandist. He has recently enlisted some men in the same capacity.
Another propagandist, Aqa Muhammad Taqizadeh, is living with a
local druggist, Aqa Mirza Hussein. He has an intention of going to India
—which intention will be frustrated.
The Bolshevik Consul-General has a confident in fone, Aqa Hussein
Kahimzadeh. The latter has had a special seal made for his correspondence
with Askhabad.
Some prominent Kavkazis made disparaging remarks about the Persian
Cossack guard in the Arq of the city. They received a beating at the hands
of the latter and the matter was reported to the Cossack Commandant who
represented it to the Eussian Consul-General. This latter sent for certain
leaders of the Kavkazi community and warned them that a repetition of
lawlessness would end in their removal from Meshed.
Suspects .—Two Indians arrived from Herat on the 15th. Their credpn-
tials are being inquired into.
Refugees.—Some thirty families, besides individuals, arrived from Bussia
during the week.

The summaries often include appendices which are usually extracts of local and national newspapers published in the regions and countries of interest, including Nabat , Rosta , Izvestia , Ittifaq-i-Islam , Bednota, Prolitarii , Sharq-i-Iran, and Pravda . Other appendices contain details of Bolshevik Garrisons in the region.
