HHBiu? . i. Four Russiaas with ha Uzbeg interpreter arrived from Kabul
22-*28th and put up at their Consulate. They were messengers sent to
A^ril Russia and left via Chahil Dukhteran on 24th.
ii. A Russian who was acting as clerk at the Consulate left for
Russia on 27th.
iii. Two Russians armed with revolvers arrived via Chahil Dukhteran
One is posteo as clerk at t’h® Consulate t the other as a messenger.
iv. The 32 Indians who were at Herat during the period stated were on
their way to Kab^l from Russia. They speak very highly of the Bol
sheviks and style themselves Indian revolutionaries. They lelt for
Kabul on the 25th, hiring their own conveyances. The Naib-ulrHukuaa
gave them a present of 100 temans for their expenses, lie subsequently
sent a party to search them. The search revealed 1,006 gold pieces on
the persons of two of them. The money was appropriated and lodged in
the Treasury pending further orders.
Vo On April the Naib-ul-iukuma sent 14 suits for Abdul Hadi Khan
Envoy Extraordinary to Moscow.
vi. The Maib-ul-Hukuma received intimation from the Afghan Consul at
Tashkent that the Bolshevik Government are handing over Panjdeh and
Sheikh Juneid (Kushk) to the Afghans! This correspondence was sent to
Kabul by dak System of postal communication used in Moghul India and later by the East India Company. messenger about the 12th April.
vii. Supplies of rice, butter, raisins, and flour (20 pony loads)
have been sent by the Kaib-ul-Hukuma to Tashkent for the use of the
Afghan Consul.
viii. Four pony loads of treasure have been sent to Murghab and Kushk
for disbursement to the troops whose pay is in arrears.
ix. Th. Governor of Qila Nao reported to the flaib-ul-Hukuma that
the Jamshedi emigrants to Bolshevik territory wish to return to Afghan
istan. fhey have beentjwioe taxed one eighth of their flocks by tne
Bolsheviks and are afraid of losing everything by such assessments, ibe
necessary permission has been given. 100 families have returned and
more are expected.
