It still seems to them thet all these things spring only
from hunger end that all they need do if to throw a piece of
bread, while the workers, moderate in their deer nds, once more
stand as docile slaves.
Let all these things be, let the workers of England, Prance
and Gerncny be mutineers, let all tirse events be repeated with
ever greater intensity in the course of the next few years —
the Hussian iievolution wrs born of strikes rnd honourable
economic derarnd.
And however much the bourgeoisie may console itself with
names the fact remains that it itself called forth the labour
movement•
It will not lead the ’’mutineers”. It will not have sufficient
raerns. As e nritter of course it hrs another resort in a docile
army, the resort which adapts itself to the needs of the bour
geoisie every time, the resort which has been appealed to against
the revolutionary move neat in Germany. But oven this expedient
will not be a vs ilable for long.
Labour is organizing everywhere, forming its Had Armies rnd
at their crli is evoked not the shibboleth ’Ibrerd for the work-
*>
ers’* but M dominion far the workers”.
This is soon to happen. Then will arise our Oommunist
Party which leads the revolutionary movemnt ox Lbour throughout
the world.

miners and the owners have disappeared. - univei's c l strike is
expected to-day. In the mining districts of Scotland and the

occupied the greater number of pits, driving the engine staff
therefrom. The mines are beginning to fill with water.

About this item

Content

The item consists of Part 1 of the subject file 1341/1921: 'Meshed Consular & Intelligence Diaries (1921-1922)'.

It contains numbered periodical (mainly weekly) reports relating to Persia [Iran], initially each called an 'Intelligence Summary' and later called a 'Meshed Intelligence Diary'. The reports cover the period of the week ending 1 January 1921 to the period ending 1 January 1923. They are initially issued by the British Military Mission, Meshed [Mashhad, also known as Mashad or Meshad], and later by the Military Attaché, Meshed. The intelligence summaries, and diaries, relate to political, foreign, military and diplomatic affairs in the locality and the neighbouring regions and are variously arranged under (chiefly) the following headings: 'Khorasan and North-East Persia'; 'Herat and Afghanistan'; 'Russian Turkistan'; 'Khorasan'; 'Cis-Frontier'; 'Trans-Frontier'; 'Afghanistan'; 'Bolshevik Garrisons'; 'Local'; 'Transcaspia'; 'Bokhara'; 'Tashkent'; 'Central Russia'; 'Khiva'; 'Ferghana'; 'General'; and 'Samarkand'. The summaries often include appendices which are usually extracts of local and national newspapers published in the regions and countries of interest, including Nabat , Rosta , Izvestia , Ittifaq-i-Islam , Bednota, Prolitarii , Sharq-i-Iran, and Pravda . Other appendices contain details of Bolshevik Garrisons in the region.
