Extracts from the “ Nahat ”, Askhabad, dated 14th January 1921.
The following is extract from Lenin's speech at the 8th Assembly of &
Soviets: “ The comrades must remember and inform the working masses that
we cannot for eyer go hungry and cold as then, in the next series of wars, we
will be overthrown.” . The workmen and peasants must listen to the voice of
our leader with attention. We have ended the first series of wars victoriously
but we remained cold, hungry and naked. The capitalists have left us alone
having fe:t the might of the Usd Army. But this does not mean that they
have for ever abandoned the hope of strangling the Workman and Peasant
itussia. Lenin further states ; “ The estate owners and capitalists hold their
army in readiness so as to throw themselves on us as soon as they notice we are
weakening.” There is no doubt that once more Soviet Russia will have to
defend her existence with the arms of the Red Army. If we won the last war
thanks to the heroism of the Red Army and the patience of the proletariat’
then m the next struggle we must be strong economically. Tor final victory
we must have a firm economic foundation.
