In the Imperialistic camps everything is proceeding as it should proceed.
We have already mentioned that our concessions will be the reason for
breaks among the capitalistic powers.
This is now confirmed by the latest news.
America has only received Kamchatka on paper, but Japan is already
taking steps to resist her competitor on the world market.
In 1921 the Anglo-Japanese Agreement is to be renewed. A clause will
be inserted in this agreement that in the event of war between Japan and
America, England is to support the former. The Imperialists are thinking
of a new war, but, one can openly say that Western Europe will not be able
to take part in it for long, as West European capital will be overthrown by the
millions of hungry, out-of-w r ork men,

About this item
- Content
The item consists of Part 1 of the subject file 1341/1921: 'Meshed Consular & Intelligence Diaries (1921-1922)'.
It contains numbered periodical (mainly weekly) reports relating to Persia [Iran], initially each called an 'Intelligence Summary' and later called a 'Meshed Intelligence Diary'. The reports cover the period of the week ending 1 January 1921 to the period ending 1 January 1923. They are initially issued by the British Military Mission, Meshed [Mashhad, also known as Mashad or Meshad], and later by the Military Attaché, Meshed. The intelligence summaries, and diaries, relate to political, foreign, military and diplomatic affairs in the locality and the neighbouring regions and are variously arranged under (chiefly) the following headings: 'Khorasan and North-East Persia'; 'Herat and Afghanistan'; 'Russian Turkistan'; 'Khorasan'; 'Cis-Frontier'; 'Trans-Frontier'; 'Afghanistan'; 'Bolshevik Garrisons'; 'Local'; 'Transcaspia'; 'Bokhara'; 'Tashkent'; 'Central Russia'; 'Khiva'; 'Ferghana'; 'General'; and 'Samarkand'. The summaries often include appendices which are usually extracts of local and national newspapers published in the regions and countries of interest, including Nabat , Rosta , Izvestia , Ittifaq-i-Islam , Bednota, Prolitarii , Sharq-i-Iran, and Pravda . Other appendices contain details of Bolshevik Garrisons in the region.
