A copy of a letter from Henry Willock, HM Chargé d'Affaires in Persia [Iran], to William McCulloch, Secretary to the Political Department of the East India Company, sent from Tehran and dated 15 December 1824.

The letter forwards a dispatch to Lord Howard de Walden, Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, for the attention of the Secret Committee Pre-1784, the Committee responsible for protecting East India Company shipping. Post-1784, its main role was to transmit communications between the Board of Control and the Company's Indian governments on matters requiring secrecy. (IOR/L/PS/9/69/250).
