A copy of a letter from Henry Willock, HM Chargé d’Affaires in Persia [Iran], to Persian Ministers [Haji Mohammad Husayn Khān Isfahānī, Sadr-e ‘Azam, Prime Minister, and Mīrzā A title of honour originally applied to princes, later to military leaders, and later still to secretaries, chieftains, and other ‘gentlemen’. Abdul Wahāb Nishāt Isfahānī, Mu’tamid al-Dawla, Foreign Minister], sent from Tehran and dated 18 December 1820.
Willock informs the ministers that he will forward their previous correspondence (IOR/L/PS/9/69/47-51) to the British Government in India while declining to discuss further the issued raised in the correspondence.
The letter was enclosed in Willock’s letter to the Secret Committee Pre-1784, the Committee responsible for protecting East India Company shipping. Post-1784, its main role was to transmit communications between the Board of Control and the Company's Indian governments on matters requiring secrecy. of the Court of Directors The London-based directors of the East India Company who dealt with the daily conduct of the Company's affairs. of the East India Company dated 26 December 1820 (IOR/L/PS/9/69/46).
