Copy of a letter from HM Chargé d’Affaires to Persia, Henry Willock, in Ardabeel [Ardabil], to the Persian Secretary to HM Mission to Persia, Mirza Baba, of 27 August 1826. In the letter Willock offers Mirza Baba his thanks and approbation for his meritorious service to the mission, on the occasion of Willock resigning charge of the mission due to the arrival of the East India Company Envoy to Persia, Lieutenant-Colonel John Macdonald Kinneir.
This document was originally enclosed, numbered 2, in Willock’s letter to the Secret Committee Pre-1784, the Committee responsible for protecting East India Company shipping. Post-1784, its main role was to transmit communications between the Board of Control and the Company's Indian governments on matters requiring secrecy. of the East India Company of 27 August 1826 (IOR/L/PS/9/70/124).
