Translation of a letter from the Crown Prince of Persia [Iran], Abbas Mirza ['Abbās Mīrzā Qājār], to the Governor-General of Georgia, General Yermoloff [General Aleksey Petrovich Yermolov]. In the letter Abbas Mirza entreats Yermoloff to discuss the ongoing frontier dispute between Russia and Persia with the Emperor of Russia, Alexander, during the visit of the Emperor to Astrachan [Astrakhan], to aid in the settlement of the dispute.
This translation was originally enclosed in the letter of HM Chargé d'Affaires to Persia, Henry Willock, to the Secret Committee Pre-1784, the Committee responsible for protecting East India Company shipping. Post-1784, its main role was to transmit communications between the Board of Control and the Company's Indian governments on matters requiring secrecy. of the East India Company of 3 December 1825 (IOR/L/PS/9/70/50).
