The map shows Ras Asseer [Ras Asir] with the position of the wrecks of the Memnon and Mary Florence marked. The elevations of Ras Asseer and Ras Jerda foon [Cape Guardafui] are also given. The map was made by Lieutenant Charles Cruttenden, Assistant Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. at Aden.
