25. From the above it will be seen that there is a de
crease of Rs. 5,21,952 compared with the previous year, but,
as explained on former occasions, the revenue of the year under
report being estimated, can only be entered approximately, and
will not admit of a true comparison being made.
26. The cause of the anticipated decrease is generally
ascribed to the fluctuating character of the inundation, and to
the consequently smaller extent of cultivation. In the Thur
and Parkur districts the decrease is attributed to destruction of
crops by locusts, to heavy rains, and to frosts.
