My Lord, Tabreez, September 16, 1890.
I have the honour to transmit herewith for your Lordship's
information my Report on the Trade of Tabreez and the North-
West of Persia for the year ending March 21 , 1890.
The year ends, and all trade accounts are at Tabreez made up
to the vernal equinox, so I am obliged to conform to this Persian
system.
I only arrived at Tabreez and took up my Consular appoint
ment at the end of February. No aid in the compilation of trade
statistics is to be obtained from the local authorities, so I have
been obliged to collect these statistics myself, and have, therefore,
been unable to submit this report at an earlier date.

Report on the Trade of North- Western Persia for the Year ending
Sea the port of Astcra is situated, wnere itussian mail steamers
call weekly in summer and fortnightly in winter, and merchant
steamers more frequently.
