Commentary by ʻAlī ibn Yaḥyá al-Maghīlī (علي بن يحيى المغيلي, active 1413), named in the present volume as Abū al-Ḥasan ʿAlī ibn Ṣāliḥ al-ʿAṣnūnī al-Maghīlī (أبو الحسن علي بن صالح العصنوني المغيلي, see f. 1v, lines 3-4), on a didactic treatise in verse on the law of inheritance shares ( farāʾiḍ ). The copy was completed on Sunday, 2 Rajab 1064 at noon, by Abū al-Qāsim al-Ṣadaqāwī (أبو القاسم الصدقاوي), and dedicated to ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Tabutadāwat al-ʿAbbāsī, 'my brother, friend, and master' (لأخي وحبيبي وسيدي عبد الرحمن بن تبوتداوت العباسي, f. 114r, lines 6-8).

The work commented upon was written in 1237 by Ibrāhīm ibn Abī Bakr al-Tilimsānī, known as al-Burrī (إبراهيم بن أبي بكر التلمساني الشهير بالبري, b. Tlemcen, 1212, d. Ceuta, 1291, see f. 1v, line 12), and a commentary upon it was also composed by al-Qalaṣādī (القلصادي), the author of the second text in the present volume.

The text is preceded by a page of prayers (f. 1r)

ين بمنه وكرمه آمين والحمد لله رب العالمين

الحمد لله ذي الجود والكرم المفيض علي عباده سوابغ النعم المنعم عليهم بفصاحة

اللسان وتوصيل المعانى من بعضهم...

Ends (f. 114r, lines 1-4):

وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم...

وعلى آله وصحبه وسلم تسليمًا كثيرًا كثيرًا دائمًا ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله العلي العـ
