2.—Settlements.
1.—Presidency Proper.
1. No Government or indm villages were due for settlement. At the end of the year
proposals were framed by the Assistant Collector for the revision of the jama of 27 talukdari
villages of the Mehlol estate in the Panch Mahals. The proposals have been sanctioned by
Government.
2. Revision settlement reports for the talukas of Chandor, Niphad, Nasik, Sinnar,
Dindori, Yeola, Igatpuri and Nandgaon of Nasik district and Raver and Yaval of East
Khandesh were submitted by the Assistant Settlement Officers. The reports of the 8Ndsik
talukas are under consideration of Government, while those of East Khandesh are with
the Collector. Proposals were framed by the Superintendent, Land Records, for the settle-
ment of 1 Government and 5 indm villages of East Khandesh and 35 indm villages of the
Satara district. Proposals for 35 indm villages have been sanctioned by the Commissioner,
Original settlement rates were introduced into 19 indm villages of the East Khandesh, Nasik
and Satara districts and revision settlement rates into 8 indm villages of East Khandesb,
Poona and Satara districts. *
Southern Division. 3 - Revision settlement proposals for the talukas of Athni, Gokak, Sampgaon, Chikoi
and Hukeri of Belgaum, Ratnagiri and Sangameshvar of Ratnagiri district, and Bagalkot,
Badami and Hungund of Bijapur district were submitted by the Assistant Settlement
Officers and are under consideration by Government. Original settlement reports for the
indm villages of the Juvathi and Panhale were submitted by the Superintendent, Land
Records, and sanctioned by the Commissioner. Settlement proposals were framed by the
Superintendent, Land Records, for the original settlement of the indm villages of Durgadken,
Siddapur and Budangad of the Dharwar taluka. Revision settlement rates were introduceo
m the Ankola, Kumtha and Honavar talukas of Kanara. Original settlement was introduce
in the mam village of Dewache-Gothne in Ratnagiri.

Revised irrigational settlements were introduced in the following, talukas diinOj

No important alienation settlements were made during the year. Land
