Brief anonymous treatise on the calculation of days and months. An instruction for calculating hijrī years indicates the date of the text's composition as 849/1445-46, during the second reign of the Ottoman sultan Murād II (مراد الثاني, reg. 1446-51, see f. 50v, lines 6-9).

Instructions for finding the first day of each month for any ( hijrī ) year (ff. 51v line 10- 52r, line 1), are followed by a summarising table, the latter annotated with a dated note in the head margin calculating the symbol for 1097/1685-86 as zāy (dotless ز, f. 52r).

Begins (f. 49v, lines 2-5):

الحمد لله الذي أوجد العالم وأضاءه بالسراج السيار وأناره بالنير

السريع السير بالفلك الدوار والصلوة على نبيه محمد أشرف الخلائق

والأنام وعلى آله الذي عملو (!) بالعلوم الشريفة والمعارف العظام

ما دارت الأفلاك بما لم يختلف...

Ends (f. 51v, line 17- f. 52r, line 1):

...فإنه هما واحد فيهما فعل هذا وضعنا كل شهر حرفا

بالحبر الأسود لأول النجومي حيث اختلفاوبالأحمر حيث اتفقا وإذا

تمت هذه الثانية عادت من أولها وتسلسلت إلى الأبد وإلى
