With reference to yodr le tter Ncs*90, dated
the 28th April 1932 and 193 dated the 19th July 1932,
regarding three Hydarabadies namely Abdul Husain, Habib
bin Hasan and Saleh bin Muhammad Abdur Rahim who approach
ed the pplitical Agent, Bahrain to register them as H.B.M's
subjects ordering me to confirm, if possible, their state
ments which you sent along in order that their requests
should be met if they are true in what they have said.
I have the honour to s tate as under what I know
about them and .what have since gathered about them from
others who know them very well:-
(1) The grandfather of Abdul Husain and Habib
namely Isa bin Muhammad was born in Hydarabad Sind. He
namely the said Isa came, together with his wife, to
Shargah. His wife bore some children one of whom is named
Hasan bin Isa at present residing at Muscat. The latter
i
married a Hydarabadi woman in Shargah. She gave birth to
three children namely Abdul Husain, Habib and Ahmad who
are now living in. Bahrain.
12) Saleh bin Muhammad Abdur Rahim. This man*s
grandfather was born in Hydrabad Sind but his father was
bora at Shragah similarly the said Saleh.
The above consist of the information I have about
these persons and what I gathered from others. Thqy are
considered in this place as British subjects and were
treated as such since many years.
I have not attested the papers in the absence
of your view regarding my statements made above. The
papers are sent back herewith.

The file includes correspondence with individuals; businesses, such as the Bahrain Petroleum Company Limited (BAPCO) and the Eastern Bank Limited, about registering their British employees; and authorities such as the Bahrain State Police, who regularly processed applications for registration before forwarding them to the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. . Related matters are also discussed in the correspondence: fines for late or non-registration; validity of passports; British nationality and naturalisation claims; rules and instructions about the registration requirement for British subjects.

The file also includes: a request from Charles Dalrymple Belgrave (Adviser to the Government of Bahrain) for a birth certificate for his son, 1929 (folios 92-93); an annual return listing thirty-nine individuals who renewed or registered in Bahrain between 1929 and 1931 (folio 130); several letters in Arabic; black and white passport size photographs on forms and letters (folios 30, 31-97, 102, and 104); Persian [Iranian] postage stamps (folios 30-31); Indian and Iraqi revenue stamps (folios 82, 84, 91, and 104).
