during the year. The new Mamlatd^r’s Kacheri and Police Lines at Bail-Hongal, commence
in the previous year, were practically completed at a cost of Rs. 49,243. The work of
additional accommodation for the Collector's records at Alibag was in progress, the expend,
ture being Rs. 4,898. Two Kardarates at Samrao and Sinjhoro, estimated*to cost Rs.311
and Rs. 31,721, respectively, were commenced and Rs. 4,000 were spent on each on materials

year, was completed at a total cost of Rs. 24,294 and Rs, 26,531, respectively Record
stands and almirahs in the Collector's Treasury and Account Office at Ldrkana were’provided
at a cost of Rs. 3,923. r
The construction of Abkari Inspector’s bungalow with out-houses at Taloda in Khdndesli
commenced last year, was completed at a cost of Es. 4,041. The warehouse at Vita ia tit
Mtara District for the storage of gdnja, commenced in the previous year, was completed
(cost Rs. 8,123).
Certain additions and improvements to the Bandstand on the east side of the Ditw
Hail at Government House, Malabar Point, Bombay, were carried out at a cost of Es. 2,951

of the secretariat Building, Bombay, were provided at a cost of Rs. 3,141. The works of
constructrng additional bed-rooms and of rebuilding certain servants’ quarters in connectioa
with Government House, Ganesh Khind, were completed at a cost of Rs.37,499 and Rs.5,5?l,

The renewal of the terrace roof of the Victoria and Albert Museum, Bombay, estiimtel

commenced in the previous year, was completed (cost Rs. 4,391).
A sum of Rs. 2 088 was spent in maintaining the Elephanta Caves at Ghaiapuri,
