Short epistle on the return of the soul by Abū ʿAlī al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAbd Allāh (أبو علي الحسين بن عبد الله), known as Ibn Sīnā (ابن سينا, latinised as Avicenna, d. 1037) addressed according to the title in the present copy to his student Abū ʿUbayd ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Muḥammad al-Jūzjānī (أبو عبيد عبد الواحد بن محمد الجوزجاني), thought to have originally been addressed to his other student, Abū al-Ḥasan Bahmanyār ibn al-Marzubān (أبو الحسن بهمنيار بن المرزبان, d. 1066). The text is also known as The Return Concerning the Soul and Emanation (المعاودة في أمر النفس والفيض) and That Which is Able to Be (ممكن الوجود).
