fi The number of Courts was 38 and the number of rerscns convicted 933 againt 883
last year. Of a total of 62 appeals 30 were confirmed, 13 modified, reveised and 4 otherwise
disposed of.
7. In the 21 jails and lock-ups, there were 1,176 inmates against 1.094 last year. Tt9
cost of maintenance was Rs. 10,090.
8 Out of a total of 5,169 suits, 3,557 were decided against 3.440 last year The n urnbe
of civil appeals received was 180. One hundred and eight were disposed of compared with 13 0
last year.
9. The number of documents registered was 405, an increase of 2, the fees being
Rs. 1,174 against Rs. 852 last year.

12. The cross revenue of Pdlanpur, Radhanpur, Tnardd and Wao amounted to Rs. 14,71,081
against Rs. 12,98,392 and the gross expenditure to Rs. 12,71,o53 against Rs. 12,04,67 ' of last
year.
13. There was an opening balance of Rs. 96,88 1 . Receipts totalled Rs 1.>S6,972 and
expenditure Rs. 1,66,091.
14. The number of births (11,094) shows an increase of 200 and the number of deaths
(8,162) an increase of 348.
15. The number of dispensaries was 15. The number of patients rose from 51,494 to
53,193 and the expenditure decreased from 31,0c 8 to 29,681. Kirhteen thousand ei_>hfc hundred
and six persons were vaccinated by 12 vaccimtors at a cost of Rs 3,93.
