2. Rainfall measured 78-51 inches, an increase of 6-7 inches. Crops were excellent.
3 The strength of the force increased from 15 to 17 and the cost rose from Rs. 1,984 to
Rs 2 4 49 owing to increased pay and purchase of accoutrements Six cases were reported to
the nolice. Eight persons, were arrested, of whom 7 were convrcted and one discharged. The
value of stolen property was Rs. 2-4, all being recovered.
4. The Deshmukh tried 57 cases with 104 offenders, 20 of whom were convicted.
5. Seven prisoners were admitted to the Surgana Jail. The expenditure was Rs. 234.
6 The gross revenue was Rs. 23,131 against Rs. 31,867 in the previous year. The
expenditure was Rs. 21,227 against Rs. 25,926. The revenue is not below the average of the
last five years.
7. The revenue fell from Rs. 6,483 to Rs* 4,016. No fresh demarcation was made.
8. Births and deaths number 349 and 176 respectively compared with 442 and 201 in
the preceding year.
9. There is one dispensary, the expenditure on which was Rs. 898. A vaccinator operated
on 522 children in 3 months.
10. Attendance at the free school decreased from 31 to 29 and the cost from Rs. 204 to

1. This State is administered under the supervision of the Collector of Thana by the hija
assisted by a Karbh&ri.
2. The rainfall increased from 112’15 to 124’95 inches, was well distributed and produced
crops estimated at 15 annas.
3. The Indian Stamp Act, Arms Act, Transfer of Property Act, District Police Act,
Cattle Trespass Act and Land Revenue Code have been adopted with certain modifications
during the year under report.
4. The force remains the same in strength. Three mounted police have taken the
place of 3 foot police ; the cost was Rs. 4,506. Cognizance of 23 offences was taken by the P 0 * 1 ^ 6,
Arrests numbered 21. Nineteen persons were sent up for trial, of whom. 13 were convict
Property worth Rs. 43 was stolen and almost all recovered.
5. Two hundred and seven offenders were dealt within 157 offences ; of these 68 weie
convicted. There were no cases of extradition.
6. There were 23 fresh admissions. The daily average was 14'5 and the total coi

7. There were 51 cases disposed of out of 71 on the files. Of 8 appeals, 3 were disp^
of. Applications for the execution of civil courts' decrees numbered 56 and 7 t remame

Annual administration report of the Bombay Presidency The name given to each of the three divisions of the territory of the East India Company, and later the British Raj, on the Indian subcontinent. , providing a summary record of the main events and developments in each department of the Government of Bombay From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. From 1858-1947, a subdivision of the British Raj. It was responsible for British relations with the Gulf and Red Sea regions. during the financial year 1909-10.
