Extract on the causes of thunder and lightning from the work on meteorology by Theophrastus (Θεόφραστος, ثيوفراسط, d. ca 287 BC) commonly, as here, misattributed to Abū ʿAlī al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAbd Allāh (أبو علي الحسين بن عبد الله), known as Ibn Sīnā (ابن سينا, latinised as Avicenna, d. 1037, see Gutas, Avicenna and the Aristotelian Tradition [2014], p. 523).
