reasons stated above ; but a remittance of Rs. 49,306

of Rs, 27, 190 were remitted to the Bombay Mint.
7. Net local receipts and issues amounted to
Rs. 15,892 and Rs. 61,152 respectively.
8 . The net local receipts and issues amounted
to Rs. 2,570 and Rs. 6,421 respectively.
9. The collection of income-tax, exclusive of realization on salaries of
Income tax Government officials and interest on Government
securities, amounted to Rs. 65,222 which shews an
increase on the previous year’s receipts by Rs. 7,362. A comparative statement
shewing the receipts and charges for the years 1909 to 1910 and 1910-1911 is
attached (Appendix XXII (e) ).
A comparative statement shewing the value of stamps sold during
gtam the year 1909-1910 and 1910-1911 is attached
(Appendix XXII (b) ). There was a net increase of
Rs. 8,192 due mostly to the enhancement of stamp duty as per Stamp Amendment
Act, 1910.

Nickel coins*-
10. The principal sources from which excise revenue is derived in Aden
Abkari. are s ^ ewn m Appendix XXII (c) in which the realiza-
tions of the year are contrasted with those of 1909-1910.
Ihe gross receipts amounted to Rs. 1,28,701 against Rs. 1,08,677 in the
preceding year, shewing an increase of Rs. 15,024, which is due to the enhanced
rates of duty levied on foreign liquors and wines imported into Aden. The
establishment and other contingent charges amounted to Rs. 10 r 585 against
Ks. 10,598 in the previous year.
There was only one offence committed against the Abkari Law during the
year, ms., breach of a license condition by the gauia farmer who was punished
by a fine under aection 45 (o) of the Bombay Abkari Act, 1878,
11. The gross receipts on account of opium amounted to Rs. 2,168 against
Opium. 2,575 in 1909-1910. The number of excise shops
with the excise revenue is shewn in Appendix XXL
