the powers conferred by sec
tions 5 and 5-A of the Sche
duled District Act (XIY of
1874) as amended by sec
tion 2, sub-section (2) of the
Repealing and Amending Act
(XII of 1891) and with the
previous sanction of the Gov
ernor General in Council the
Governor of Rombay in
Council is pleased to extend
to Aden, as defined, in sec
tion 2 of the Aden Laws Re
gulation (II of 1891) the
Bombay District Police Act
(Bombay Act IV of 1890)
subject to the following res-
trictions and modifications,
viz .:—
(1) for the purposes of the
said Act, Aden defined as
aforesaid, shall be deemed
to be a district of the Pre
sidency of Bombay;
(2) the
Political Resident
A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency.

Aden, for the time being
shall be deemed to be the
Inspector-General of Police
appointed by Government
for the said District and
the Inspector-General of
Police, Bombay, shall have
no authority under the
said Act in the said dis-
trictj
(3) any power or autnor.ty
conferred by the said Act
upon a Commissioner may
