Small-pox Hospital .—This building is situated in an unpopulated

according to the circumstances of each case. One thousand four hundred and
eighty bills of health were issued to Buggalows against 1,382 in the previous v™,.
The Port Health Officer found 24 cases of infectious diseases in 13 vessels that
arrived at Aden. The cases referred to were o of small-pox, 1 case of plague 2
of chicken-pox, 5 measles, 8 of jigger and 3 of scarlatina. In the case’of
infected vessels, all possible sanitary precautions 'were taken to spread the
