here is as follows :—The Political Committee approve of your proposals, but want
to see the proposed agreement. The Finance Committee will probably object,
hut a majority of the Council are certain to support the general concessions
proposed. I am sorry if delay causes inconvenience, hut the sum to he trans
ferred is so large that the Council have a right to ask for time. My letter of
24th spoke of a ready assent. This I can obtain when the papers are received.

This volume comprises printed copies of telegraphic correspondence, dated 1 January-31 December 1902, of Lord Curzon of Kedleston, Viceroy and Governor-General of India, with Lord George Hamilton, Secretary of State for India.
