ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE—CRIMINAL
The total murder cases were 214 as against 216 in the
preceding year. They may be classified as follows :—from
motives connected with women 55, for the sake of orna
ments 1, for the sake of gain 21, and arising out of other
causes 137.
The following table shows the number of original and

CIVIL AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE
Sind.—The Sind Judiciary exercises jurisdiction over an area
of 46,506 square miles with a population of 3,279,377.
There was a decrease in the number of criminal cases brought
to trial from 32,373 to 32,277 and in the number of persons
from 52,229 to 52,090. Out of 52,353 persons tried, 20,901
were convicted, an increase of 1,218 over the previous year.
Twenty-three persons were sentenced to death, 44 to transporta
tion, 4,095 to imprisonment, 15,828 to fine, 121 to whipping
and 1,099 were ordered to furnish security. The total amount
of fines realised during 1925 amounted to Rs. 2‘62

The number of offences and attempts at offences affecting
life fell from 303 to 272 in the year under report. A large

supposed intrigues with women.
The number of civil suits instituted in Sind during 1925
increased by 668 to 28,812, the total value amounting to about
Rs. 184

Annual administration report of the Bombay Presidency The name given to each of the three divisions of the territory of the East India Company, and later the British Raj, on the Indian subcontinent. , providing a summary record of the main events and developments in each department of the Government of Bombay From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. From 1858-1947, a subdivision of the British Raj. It was responsible for British relations with the Gulf and Red Sea regions. during the financial year 1925-26. The report was printed at the Government Central Press, Bombay [Mumbai], in 1927.
The report is divided into two parts.
