Ispatian even where Oonsulate-General is in middle of town and
tnere has been equal strength of men<. knj mission outside
Shiraz such as those on which you have deputed me would be im
practicable without ten men. It should oe rememoered that orac-
tice continues from 1909 to 19^0 (? when) there was Indian

I agree with Consul Shiraz that present is very unpropi-
tious moment to reduce strength of escort. In my opinion it shjjiii/
remain as at present at least until Persian Government has
provided some reasonable efficient force to replace
South Persia Hifles in maintaining order in town and neighbour
hood.
