307. The School of Veterinary Medicine is still housed in the Higher School of
Agriculture buildings, the new building intended for the former being still uncom
pleted at the end of 1921. The need for increased accommodation is pressing, but
no improvement in the existing crowded conditions can De expected before the School
of Veterinary Medicine removes to its new quarters.

309. The annual examinations were held in May and July 1921, with the result
that three of the fourth year students graduated. Three of the first year passed and
were transferred to the second year; four of the second year passed and were trans
ferred to the third year, and all the seven of the third year passed and were trans
ferred to the fourth year. On the opening of the school on the 8th October, 1921, the
numbers of students were as follows :—

310. The new school building is progressing satisfactorily, and will probably be
wholly occupied before the end of the present school year. The dissecting room,
pharmacy and infirmary buildings have been occupied since January 1920.
Intermediate Schools of Agriculture.
311. The three intermediate agricultural schools at Mustohor, Damanhur and
Shebin-el-Kom have made some progress, and the revised syllabus, which was
restricted to the hist and second year classes in 1920, has been extended to all classes
from the beginning of the school year 1921-22 (October 1921). Sixty-one pupils
graduated from these schools during the year.
312. The following table shows the number of applicants to the three Inter
mediate Schools, as well as the number actually admitted, as compared with the
figures for 1920 : —

The file contains correspondence, memoranda, reports, and newspaper cuttings relating to the political situation in Egypt. The memoranda are written by officials at the War Office, Admiralty, Colonial Office, and Foreign Office and mostly concern military policy in Egypt and the defence of the Suez Canal. The Annual Report on Egypt for the year 1921, written by Field Marshall Edmund Henry Hynman Allenby, High Commissioner of Egypt, is also included. The report covers matters such as politics, finance, agriculture, public works, education, justice, and communications. Some correspondence from Ernest Scott, Acting High Commissioner in Egypt, to Lord Curzon can also be found within the file.
