Dear Sir,
Herewith we have
pleasure in handing you
particulars of a new Volt
meter which we are about to
place on the market.
For some time past we
have given this subject very
great attention, and have now
no hesitation in saying that
this Meter is the most re
liable article yet placed upon
the market.
The case is made throughout of white metal, and every
metal part used in this Meter is anti-magnetic. Further,
we have—what is a most unusual provision in meters, /.e. a
pivot working in a jewelled hole. This practically does away
with the variation commonly found through expansion and
contraction of the metals during the changes in temperature.
The spool or coil is scientifically made of the very best "wiie
and insulating material, and the two terminals for communicating
to the poles of the accumulator are fastened in a very ingenious
manner. The eye-ring contains a set screw, which protects the
point and prevents it wearing holes in the pocket.
The other terminal is connected to the coil by the usual
flexible wire, which is self-winding. The tension of the spring
can be altered by a very ingenious arrangement.
