Evening Meeting.-Paper to be read at the Evening Meeting in April
Monday, April 12. Fourth Centenary of the A oyage of John ( abota, 14.'<. By
the President.
Annual Dinner and Conversazione.—The Annual Dinner of the Society will
take place on the evening of the Anniversary Meeting, May 17, in the Whitehall
Rooms of the Hotel Metropole, at 7-30 p.m. x\ Conversazione will be held in the
month of June ; intimatirn as to the date and place will be sent to the Fellows
next month. It is requested that Fellows intending to be present at the Dinner
will send intimation to the Chief C lerk as soon as possible.
Educational Lectures.—Under the joint auspices of the Society and the London
University Extension, Mr. H. J. Mackinder, M.A., is giving a course of twenty-five
lectures on the Geography of Europe, Asia, and Northern Africa, at Gresham College,
Basinghall Street, E.C., on successive Mondays at 6 p.m. To these lectures Fellows
are admitted free on showing their tickets. For details apply to the Secretary,
London University Extension, Charterhouse, E.C.
Any Fellow resident in this country, desiring to have notice of the subjects of
►apers to be read at the Society’s Meetings forwarded to him, can receive such notices
>y post on payment in advance to the Chief Clerk, at 1, Savile Bow, of 2s. per session.
The Society’s House will remain open for the Convenience of Fellows on the
evenings of the Society’s ordinary meetings till 8.15.
Election of Council.—In accordance with the resolution of the Council of
November 10, 1891, it is herewith notified that “any names of persons qualified
to fill the vacancies occurring on the Council, with their qualifications, suggested
in writing to the Secretaries before the first of May by Fellows, will be considered
by the Council in drawing up the Balloting List” for the next Annual Meeting.
