Sir,
In continuation of Amy Council letter Ho *121/3/1540
of the 24th June, relative to tne repatriation by sea of some
380 Armenians from Mesopotamia to Constantinople, 1 am
commanded by the Army Council to ask whether the Foreign Office
is prepared to accept the charges incidental to this move.
With regard to the disposal of the remainder of the
Armenians in Baqubah camp the only other proposal for
repatriation by sea, was that of 590 to Cilicia referred to in
Army Council letter 0103/0en.*o./8b7 of 4th December, 1919, to
which no reply was received, doubtless owing to the disturbance,
in Cilicia rendering the scheme impossible.

to settle some of these Armenians on the land in Sesopotamla
has been further considered.
From the last quoted letter it would appear that the
plan in view is the eventual transfer of these refugees to
the republic of Erl van. The difficulties in the way of
accomplishing this transfer must postpone the hope of its
fulfil)sent to a remote date, and in view of the great expense
which has provisionally been met from Army Funds, and the
fact that expenditure for a few montns continuation only of '
the camp was budgetted for, I am to enquire if this policy
has been definitely adopted, and if so , how it is proposed
to carry it out.
