This item consists of copies of correspondence, consultations, resolutions, and minutes cited in, or enclosed with, political letters from the Government of Bombay From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. The item concerns:

• Six passengers who seized control of a trading baghlah Large trading vessel. from Kishm [Qeshm]; their murder of the nakhoda; their capture at Cheroo [Bandar-e Chiru]; and a discussion of what should be done with the prisoners
• An act of ‘piracy’ carried out at Nabend [Damagheh-ye Nay Band] on a Persian boat from Karrack [Khark/Kharg]
• The inefficiency of the Gulf Squadron caused by a lack of experienced officers
• Robertson’s request to be relieved of his position due to ill-health and a loss of confidence of the Government of Bombay From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. From 1858-1947, a subdivision of the British Raj. It was responsible for British relations with the Gulf and Red Sea regions. in him, including a justification for all his actions since becoming Officiating Resident.
