Letter from Thomas White, Paymaster-General at Bombay to Lieutenant William Bruce, Acting Resident at Bushire, acknowledging the receipt of a letter sent on 1 May and informing him that a payment of twenty-four Rupees Indian silver coin also widely used in the Persian Gulf. for supplies to Indian [Hindoo] Sepoys Term used in English to refer to an Indian infantryman. Carries some derogatory connotations as sometimes used as a means of othering and emphasising race, colour, origins, or rank. was made.
