Letter regarding affairs on the arab coast including a defensive treaty that the Chiefs of Ras-ool Khyma [Ra's al Khaymah], Ejman [Ajman] and Amulgavine [Umm al Qaywayn] have entered in to with the Chief of Aboothabee [Abu Dhabi]and investigating reports of new forts being built.

The letter also contains report from the Lingeh [Bandar-e-Lengeh] agent that the Persian governors on the coast have been instructed to keep their forces ready, and if commanded to march on [Bastak?] and destroy it.

The letter goes on to discuss a rape case that is being investigated; the arrival of the Earl Canning which was towing the cable vessel to lay the telegraph line from Jask to Bombay and reporting on the weather and the impact that has had on illness at Bassidore and crab fishing in the area.
