The file relates to the imposition of a fine on a merchant belonging to the firm Dhamanmal Isardas, who had been caught by the Customs at Karachi, in company with a second merchant, attempting to smuggle coin, silver and a piece of silk into India. The papers include correspondence between the Director of Customs at Bahrain, the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. , Bahrain, and the Collector of Customs, Karachi, and a report on the case, dated 23 February 1933.
