This item consists of copies of correspondence, consultations, memoranda, resolutions, and minutes cited in, or enclosed with, political letters from the Government of Bombay From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. The item concerns the persistent ill-treatment of the shroff [banker] at the Bushire Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. by the residents of Bushire, and the measures taken by the Resident to compel Sheik Nassir to punish the offenders.
