Telegram advising Pelly to take legal steps, through the Solicitor to the Government of Bombay From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. From 1858-1947, a subdivision of the British Raj. It was responsible for British relations with the Gulf and Red Sea regions. , to impound all monies belonging to the Gaekwar in any bank in Bombay, which the Government of India have claimed as property of the state of Baroda.
A pencil note from Lewis Pelly, dated 28 March 1875, requests that a copy of the telegram be made and placed in the file concerning state banks. A further unsigned note, also dated 28 March, states that the above request has been fulfilled.
