Letter informing Pelly that the Gaekwar (Malharrao) should have every opportunity to prepare his defence and that he should be informed of this in writing.
The letter goes on to discuss the likelihood that the court will meet on 18 February as Sir Richard Couch cannot be in Baroda before then, and asking Pelly to send a full report on all that had occurred as the Secretary of State for India (George Campbell, 8th Duke of Argyll) was expecting one.
