Letter giving Pelly an indication of the Viceroy's opinion on what would be proper for Henry Cleveland's guidance and suggesting that one and a half lakhs One lakh is equal to one hundred thousand rupees would be a liberal allowance, as when added to the money already advanced it would come to two lakhs One lakh is equal to one hundred thousand rupees in total.
