Letter regarding an Indian man and a small boy who were brought to Bombay from Muskat [Muscat] on board the Berenice in order to prevent the boy from being sold and seeking advice from Pelly on how to handle the situation.

The letter goes on to outline a second situation in which the Muskat Apothecary and some of the engineers from the Berenice had attempted to arrange for some women from the former Sultan (Thuwaini bin Said)'s Harem to be smuggled out of Muscat which the Sultan (Salim II bin Thuwaini) became aware of.
